Community Day 2006 May 20, 2006 This year the EFCL took feedback from all of the leagues on how best to show their board members and active volunteers the City's appreciation for all of their energy and dedication. We put together an afternoon of music, art and play for the whole family, in Hawrelak Park at the Heritage Amphitheatre. We would like to thank; Mayor Mandel and Councilor Phair for attending and offering great words of appreciation for volunteer service in the leagues; The City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Examiner, LaFarge Construction, and Aon Insurance Brokerage for their generous support; The Whyte Avenue Art Walk for the gallery of artists; The Edmonton Food Bank for helping us to contribute to a good cause in the City; an the contributions from community leagues to the mural. Plans are underway for Community Day 2007. If you have feed back from Community Day 2006 please contact Deanna at communications@efcl.org
This is a printed image of the mural painted by attendees of the event. It has a geographical base that represents all the communities of Edmonton and is covered in colourful organic shapes that represent the growth and blending diversity of the community leagues of Edmonton. It is on display at the EFCL. Come and see!! |
