SNOW SHOVELLING Minimize

Are you a senior who is fearful of the onset of winter because you don’t know how you’re going to manage once the snow hits?

Keeping walks free from snow is also important to help prevent falls.  So if you know of a senior who needs help, do that extra little bit and shovel in front of their house!  They appreciate it!

There are a number of agencies in Edmonton who match seniors with a low-cost snow shoveller to ensure you’re not snowbound or risk being fined for not clearing your walks.

Edmonton’s Seniors Should Plan Now for Snow

Seniors should begin arranging for help with snow shovelling now to avoid worry in the coming months.

“Winter can be a challenging time for seniors. As a first resort, seniors could ask family members, neighbours or friends for help, but if that’s not an option, there are several agencies which seniors can contact to request snow shovelling service,” said Brenda Wong, seniors coordinator with the City of Edmonton.

If you are a senior who needs help, or if you can help seniors shovel their snow, contact one of the following groups.
