Over 140 people attended the Second Annual Green Shack Wrap Up Party and enjoyed free hot dogs, jumpy things, and a most entertaining petting zoo! 

 The EFCL has learned that approximately 20 community leagues have seen their application for Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) funding rejected.

Leagues can easily run this neighbourhood enhancement and community member recognition program which has a lot of long term benefits to the community.

Celebrate Bike Month with the City of Edmonton and enjoy free pedal powered events throughout June. Cycling is an active transportation option that helps reduce traffic congestion, conserve Edmonton's road infrastructure, and protect the environment.

 The Front Yards in Bloom Program is seeking nominations of beautiful front yards in your community, and Community Leagues who would like to take on the simple task of delivering the nomination package to homes in your area.

Connections 2010 --Shaping the Future of Where We Live. Together.  The City of Edmonton, led by the Office of Great Neighbourhoods, is hosting three Connections 2010 events in April 2010 to inform Edmontonians of the many current and upcoming City projects, programs and services happening in their neighbourhoods and build stronger connections between residents and City staff.

 In spring, when the snow is slow to go, it is always great to hear about Front Yards in Bloom preparing for the awards and soliciting leagues to run the program in their neighbourhood. Last year’s program saw unprecedented participation from our leagues with national award to Edmonton for the cooperative efforts and programs within Edmonton’s communities.

The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues, and the City of Edmonton have joined together to assist community groups who were unsuccessful in receiving STEP grant funding for their summer programs. There were 12 community groups that indicated their summer programs would not proceed as planned after not receiving a STEP grant.
