The new EFCL Board Development Director, Andrea Sage, hit the ground running with her first major project, scheduling workshops for the “Leagues Alive 2012 Conference and Trade Show”, set for Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Mayfield Inn. Public interest in climate change and energy, the economy and the environment have prompted considerable innovation and enterprise for commercializing clean technologies and sustainable communities. (whether the results of Copenhagen will contribute to fusing or fragmenting, frustrating or financing, the various initiatives, we’ll know better in the coming weeks). The Alberta Council of Technologies and the AB Chapter— Canadian Green Building Council, propose the following forums for the purpose of helping define the status of clean technologies in Alberta and advancing their commercialization.

This is a brief summary of some of the minuted feedback collected at the "Next Gen Community Challenge" on July 8th, 2009 at Orange Hall.
Two Questions were asked:
1. What sort of projects appeal to the next gen demographic?
2. How can Community Leagues better engage the next gen demographic?
This is a summary of the written feedback and some of the discussion that took place.

Edmonton's natural areas have tremendous ecological, social, educational and economic value. If that value is to be preserved, it is up to us as a community to be responsible stewards of these ecologically-rich places and the plant and wildlife species that inhabit them.
As a step in this direction, the City of Edmonton is launching a new "learn and serve" program for Edmontonians who are interested in learning more about ecology and naturalization in our city, and being involved in the stewardship of local natural areas.
