Front Yards In Bloom!

In spring, when the snow is slow to go it is always great to hear about Front Yards in Bloom preparing for the awards and soliciting leagues to run the program in their neighbourhood.  Last year's program saw unprecedented participation from our leagues with national recognition for the cooperative efforts within Edmonton's communities.

Front Yards in Bloom (FYinB) is a recognition program to celebrate beautiful front yards.  Anyone can nominate an attractive front yard. Nominations come from gardeners, from  neighbours, and from Canada Post letter carriers. After the nomination deadline,  volunteers deliver a yellow “Front Yards in Bloom” sign and a certificate to each nominated address.  Volunteers also select top yards that make Edmonton beautiful.

Front Yards in Bloom is a partnership of the Edmonton Horticultural Society (EHS), the City of Edmonton, and Canada Post.

FYinB is looking for community leagues that want more Front Yards in Bloom in their neighbourhood. It’s easy, it’s fun, and it works.
