Pace Car Program Part of a Program to Lower Speeds in Communities
By host @ 2:48 PM :: 3038 Views :: 0 Comments :: :: Planning Matters - Civic Affairs, EFCL News, City of Edmonton News

The City is considering lowering the speed limit on our community’s roads. Historically EFCL supported lowering the speed limit and is working with Traffic Safety on the issue. Traffic Safety also wants EFCL to take a leading role in implementing Pace Car Neighbourhood Program. The program encouraging    motorists to display a Neighbourhood Pace Car cling from their window or bumper. With the cling, motorists sign a pledge to always drive the speed limit and to watch out for cyclists and pedestrians. EFCL agrees that speeding is a community problem with a community lead solution. To make our communities safer, EFCL will partner, support and promote every project and program to ensure traffic and pedestrian safety, prevent accidents and keeping injury free communities. Traffic Safety has a new Speed Management Coordinator. EFCL welcomes Dan Jones on his new job and is looking forward working with him.
