The EFCL is encouraging all leagues to look into the SNOW BUSTERS program that SAGE, a seniors organization, is running this winter. SAGE is lining up people to shovel the walks for seniors throughout the city. The seniors will pay SAGE a monthly fee ($70-90/month, depending on the size of the lot) and SAGE will pay the community league for every shoveller it can find. The league will then pay the snow shovellers or if any of them are prepared to donate their services, use this initiative as a league fundraiser.
