Final Garlic Mustard Pull - Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. - Corner of 91 St. and 77 Ave.

Meeting for all interested Master Naturalists - "Nature for New Canadians" projects - Aug. 29, 10:00 a.m. at Oxbridge Place (2nd Floor)

Please join us on August 29 to discuss some of the projects currently underway to engage recent immigrants in learning about Edmonton's nature (the BioKit project, Learning the Language/Learning the Land, presentations to ESL classes, etc.), and to explore potential new projects. The meeting will take place on the 2nd Floor of Oxbridge Place, 9820-106 Street., from 10:00-12:00.

A rough agenda:

1. Introductions
2. Why is it so important to welcome newcomers to nature? What particular needs do they have? (flipchart exercise)
3. Present the 3 existing projects - BioKit, Learning the Language/Learning the Land, and presentations to ESL classes (see project profiles attached); discuss new project ideas?
4. Discuss ways of collaborating & building the work
5. Agree on next steps

Please RSVP to Angela.Hobson@edmonton.ca  if you're planning to attend, so we can make sure we have a large enough meeting space.
