Great Start!  33 Community Leagues signed up, 134 Nominations!  Keep them coming in!
Media coverage:

Front Yards in Bloom is a local spin off recognition program from Communities In Bloom to celebrate beautiful front yards. In the past, Edmonton won the national title among large municipalities as one of Canada’s most beautiful and livable communities by taking first place in the Cities Over 300,000 Population category. Part of the criteria that secured the award included the Front Yards in Bloom program and the degree pf community engagement.
Nominations come from gardeners, neighbours, Canada Post letter carriers and members of the public. Captains deliver a yellow “Front Yards in Bloom” sign and a certificate to each nominated address.  Volunteers also select the top 2 yards in their neighbourhood that make Edmonton beautiful. The deadline to become a volunteer neighbourhood captain is May 31.
To  nominate yards.bloom@edmonton.ca by June 30, 2011 or phone 311 Or use the online form Front Yards in Bloom Nomination
Front Yards in Bloom is a partnership of the Edmonton Horticultural Society (EHS) www.edmontonhort.com , the City of Edmonton, and Canadian Union of Postal Workers www.cupwedm.net.
