OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERS IN OUR COMMUNITIES
Last fall we honored specific projects in Communities around Edmonton at a successful showcase. It was an eye opener to the public and to many leagues to see the extent that Leagues have active Volunteers making great things happen.
This fall on November 24th, 2008 from 7:00 to 9:30 pm,
at Calder Community League Hall, 12721 - 120 Street (click for google map)
we are holding a similar Reception where Mayor Mandel, City Councillors, Hon. Lindsay Blackett, Minister of Culture & Community Spirit, and the Edmonton Examiner will honor volunteers nominated by our Leagues.
Also, honored this evening is our Community Partner and Major Sponsor of this event, the Edmonton Examiner for their hard work in promoting community and spreading the true local news at the community level. They will also be awarding a special Community League award.
Each league may nominate one individual or one team of indivduals from any one of the following categories for this Recognition Event (this means one nomination per league):

The City Room at City Hall received structural damage to the roof during the last bad weather at the beginning of November. Facility managers were unable to confirm if the room would be re-opened in time for our event so we made a decision to relocate. Sorry for any inconvenience.
