Proposed Residential Mixed Dwelling Zone going to Public Hearing July 15th
You have only a few days to get your feedback to Council concerning the proposed low density zone which encourages a range of dwelling types and densities including narrow single detached housing, semi-detached housing and row housing within the same street.   The proposed zone is intended to be applied to large areas, one hectare or more, in new or established neighbourhoods.    The zone is most likely to be used in new neighbourhoods, with Secord and Heritage neighbourhoods being some of the first.

Urban Systems Scouts 100th Anniversary Project Site

Through the month of June, Allan Bolstad, EFCL Executive Director, and the 100th Anniversary committee put in dozens of hours to assess the proposals we received for our Anniversary Project.  After much deliberation, Urban Systems was awarded the contract.



Tuscan Sun Shines on EFCL Volunteers
Last night at the EFCL offices, staff  was led by Rob Agostinis to host an unforgettable Italian evening designed to spoil and delight our EFCL volunteers.  The nine course meal was fabulous and perfectly complemented with wine, aperitifs, and superb company.

EFCL Welcomes Nora Begoray, Marketing Director
Nora brings a lot of Community League Fundraising and Events Coordination experience to the EFCL Team.  She will be a key person to work with the 100th Anniversary Committee for our legacy project at Hawrelak Park.
Local Arts and Heritage Grants Launches New & Improved Program
 The Edmonton Heritage Council, Edmonton Arts Council and Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues are changing the application process for the Living Local Neighborhood Arts and Heritage Project Grants.  The grants help celebrate the history and heritage of Edmonton’s diverse neighbourhoods by connecting community leagues with local artists and heritage practitioners and helping them to commission projects that will recognize the historical and artistic character of their neighborhood.
