Community League Infrastructure Audit

As described at our April 8, 2008 Open House, the audit will assess the structural condition and energy efficiency of your community league hall. The audit will provide your league with information about the state of your hall, the cost to maintain and repair your building in the future, along with a number of energy conservation tips.

 
This program is open to any community league that is interested.
 
In order to take part in the program, the league will need to supply the EFCL with a cheque to cover the league’s portion of the cost. This cost is proportional to the size of the hall and is described in the table below.
 
Each league will also need to apply for a Community Initiatives Program (CIP) grant for half of the cost of the audit, including project management fees, again outlined in the table below.
 
The City of Edmonton has provided the EFCL with $60,000 to help cover the cost of the first phase of this program. Depending on the size of the halls, we expect to be able to accommodate 15 community leagues in Phase One.
 
Please feel free to provide a cheque based on what you think is the size of your hall. If during the preparation of your CIP grant it is determined that your assumption about the hall size was not correct, we can charge you or reimburse you the difference.
 
Leagues will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Acceptance in the program is based solely on the EFCL receiving a cheque from your league, covering the league’s portion of the audit costs.
 
As soon as the EFCL receives the league’s payment and CIP money, the audit will commence. Please note that as an option, the league could provide the EFCL with money equivalent to the CIP grant. This would enable the audit to begin immediately. The league would have to wait for reimbursement from the province when the CIP grant is approved.
